Successful Cal hat

When I took up knitting last year, the only thing Jason asked for was a knit hat in Cal Bears colors.

Attempt number one resulted in this failure last fall.

Let's see... it was too large, the gauge on the gold wasn't nearly that of the blue, he didn't like the folded brim or the swirled decreases on the top, and the blue wasn't dark enough. A failure indeed.

Attempt number two seems to be much more successful.

He's actually much happier than he appears here, because he is looking directly into the sun.

This is the top, which I like quite a lot. The paired decreases make a lovely little square.

I think this one's a winner!

Great hat! What seats do you have? If you email me back, I'll tell you where I'll be....

I'm sorry I missed this comment before we went to the game. And what a game!! Maybe we can meet up next time.
