Look! I've been knitting!

Ravelry has definitely taken over my knitting computer time, but I have indeed been knitting. I started both of these projects while camping at Lair of the Bear.

This is the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, made with Socks that Rock Mediumweight leftover from the Syncopated Cap I made.

Dulaan items sent

|

I've finished an am about to mail my five Dulaan items: four hats and a scarf. I'm also sending a Dora the Explorer fleece blanket to Mongolia. My kids don't use it any more and it's doubled fleece -- so very warm. Do you think little girls around the world love pink too?

The final hat is a Meathead Hat. The bow I tied dressed it up a little, but it's not my favorite. That honor goes to the blue Greenery Hat. I'll be making one of these for myself soon!

Presenting... Sue's first completed knitting project -- a garter stitch scarf!

Yosemite Scarf and not-matching hat

|

This is one of the very few times that I bought a yarn with no pattern in mind. I loved the Yosemite yarn and made this simple garter stitch scarf on size 19 needles. I hoped that one skein would be enough but had to go back to the LYS for another. I have 50 grams left in the second skein, which may be enough for a hat.

It was my first project on giant needles as well as my first with a thick-and-thin yarn. I found it very fun and finished the scarf in something like three days. A few inches of fringe completed the project. It was made as a Christmas gift for my friend Nikki, though I think she liked the Giants hat I made for her husband better!

Misti Alpaca scarf

Let me tell you how much I love this scarf. It only takes one reasonably-priced skein. It is super soft. It's reversible. It's a free pattern (I got it at my LYS but it's free on Misti Alpaca Yarn's site too). It's really warm and wonderful.

I'm a sucker for deep, rich colors like this red, and I have a ball of their lavender yarn ready to make another.
